Our tour of Machupícchu and Sacred Valley 5D is perfect for those who want to explore Cusco without haste or additional efforts.
We begin with a visit to the impressive archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay. Next, we explore the magical Sacred Valley, visiting the wonders of Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo.
We take a train to Aguas Calientes to rest and the next day the mystical Inca city of Machu Picchu awaits us.
We close the trip with the incredible Salineras de Maras, Moray and Chinchero, discovering more of the fascinating Inca history. An unforgettable adventure awaits you!
Finally, take advantage of the last day you can take a Walking Tour in the city (optional) to end with the transfer to the Airport.
PROGRAM SUMMARY
DAY 01: CUSCO | SACSAYHUAMAN | QENQO | PUKAPUKARA | TAMBOMACHAY | CUSCO
On your first day, we will pick you up from the airport and in the afternoon we will do the City Tour where we will visit Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara and Tambomachay.
DAY 02: CUSCO | TARAY VIEW POINT | PISAC | PISAC CRAFT MARKET | URUBAMBA | OLLANTAYTAMBO | AGUAS CALIENTES
In the morning we will start the Sacred Valley tour at 7:30 am. approximately. where we will visit the Mirador de Taray, the Archaeological Park of Pisac and its craft market, lunch in Urubamba, Ollantaytambo to finally sleep in Aguas Calientes.
DAY 03: AGUAS CALIENTES | MACHU PICCHU | AGUAS CALIENTES | OLANTAYTAMBO | CUSCO
We will ascend to Machu Picchu where we will have a memorable visit of about 2 hours and additional time to walk in this dream place.
DAY 04: CUSCO | MORAY | SALT MINES OF MARAS | CHINCHERO | CUSCO
This day we start between 8:30 am. Northwest and visit the archaeological site of Moray, Maras and its impressive salt mines and finally Chinchero Tupac Inka Yupanki palace.
DAY 05: WALKING TOUR IN CUSCO | CUSCO AIRPORT
After breakfast at the Hotel you will have the option of doing the Walking tour in the city and at the time of your flight transfer you to the Airport.
TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 1: Cusco Airport / Cusco / Sacsayhuaman / Qenqo / Pukapukara / Tambomachay / Cusco
- With a warm welcome to Cusco, we are excited to receive you at the airport and be ready to assist you in your transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day will be dedicated to resting and adapting to the altitude. Remember! Cusco is located at 3,350 meters above sea level
- We know that it is important for you to enjoy your trips to the fullest, therefore, we will dedicate this day so that you can acclimatize before starting all your trips in Cusco.
- At approximately 1 pm we will begin this day with energy to start our City tour, for this our staff will pick you up at your hotel.
- Once ready, we will head to the Qoricancha temple where we will delve into part of the history of the region that will prepare us to visit more incredible places.
- Then we will head towards Saqsayhuaman, one of the archaeological sites known for its megalithic constructions where we will receive a short explanation from our guide and you will have time to take those inevitable photographs.
After visiting this place, we will head towards Puka pukara known for its reddish coloration in its buildings, here you will know much more thanks to our tour guide. - Our last point to visit will be to visit Tambomachay where our guide will give you the latest explanations of the place and with this we would conclude this day of travel.

Day 2: Cusco / Taray View Point / Pisac / Urubamba / Ollantaytambo / Aguas Calientes
- Your adventure with our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour begins with a warm greeting and pickup from your hotel at 7:30 a.m. approximately. Together we will head towards the Sacred Valley, where we will make our first stop in Chinchero, one of the most popular towns in the region, famous for its rich textile history. There we will learn about their ancestral techniques and colorful customs up close.
- After this enriching visit, we will continue our trip to Pisac. Along the way, we will stop at the Mirador de Taray to capture stunning photographs of the valley that spreads out below us. Upon arriving in Pisac, we will be amazed by the grandeur of its agricultural terraces, which are still preserved on the slopes of the mountains, a legacy of Inca engineering.
- To recharge our batteries and continue our tour, we will head to Urubamba, where we will have the opportunity to delight in a delicious lunch of typical dishes from the region. We will savor the fresh ingredients and the unique seasoning of Peruvian cuisine.
- With a full stomach and renewed spirit, we will head to Ollantaytambo, an imposing Inca fortress known for its monumental terraces, temples, and ceremonial water fountains. We will walk through its passageways and admire the majesty of this citadel, feeling the connection with the past and the greatness of the Inca Empire.
- From Ollantaytambo, we will take a train that will take us on a picturesque trip of approximately 2 hours to the town of Machu Picchu, also known as Aguas Calientes. During the journey, we will enjoy the beauty of the Andean landscape and we will say goodbye to the Sacred Valley with a heart full of pleasant memories.
- Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our attentive staff will be waiting to accompany you to your hotel, where you can settle in and enjoy a well-deserved rest. You can use the remaining time to visit the surroundings of the town or simply relax and prepare for the exciting experience that awaits you the next day: a visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Aguas Calientes / Ollantaytambo / Cusco
- On this day of our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour, the sunrise will be our reward in a majestic place. After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up and give you some instructions before accompanying you to the CONSETTUR bus station. A short 30-minute bus ride will take us to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
- Inside the Inca citadel, we will embark on a guided tour of approximately two hours. During this tour, you will feel the unique energy that this mystical place emanates and you will marvel at the architectural work of the ancient cultures that left us an invaluable legacy. Don’t forget to take as many photos as you want, including selfies, to show off to your friends and family!
- After exploring Machu Picchu, we will return to the Town of Machu Picchu on the CONSETTUR buses. There, you will have free time to enjoy a delicious lunch (own expense). You will receive the final instructions from our guide about your return by train from the town of Machu Picchu and finally the wait of our staff who will be near the Ollantaytambo train station to take you in our mobility to the city of Cusco, where our tour will end. Day 4: Cusco / Moray / Maras / Chinchero / Cusco
- On this magnificent day, our team will pick you up at 8am. approximately. Once ready, our staff will take you to our transportation to go to the picturesque town of Chinchero. There we can appreciate its beautiful colonial church and an incredible archaeological site. We will also have the opportunity to visit one of the textile centers where they will teach us how these fabrics are made, which are still made in a traditional way.
- Then, we will head towards the Maras salt mines, where we will find more than 3,000 wells belonging to local residents. Here you can also buy this salt in small quantities and try it.
- Our last point will be to visit Moray, known for its incredible circular terraces that are an enigma to this day. As in all destinations, here you will also have an explanation from our guide, who will give you the most curious information about this place.
- Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco, ending this day full of travel.

- This last day we will have the option of doing a Walking Tour

- The rules to respect inside Machu Picchu are:
- The entrance to the Inca city is from 06:00 to 16:00 hrs.
- The entrance and consumption of alcoholic beverages is totally prohibited.
- Hydrating drinks must be carried in bottles (but not disposable).
- Food consumption inside the archaeological park is not authorized.
- Pets are not allowed inside the park.
- It is forbidden to throw garbage inside the park. Outside the archaeological site there are garbage containers.
- Smoking is prohibited, much less lighting bonfires.
- Regarding luggage, only small bags and backpacks are accepted. However, if you have a lot of luggage, you can leave it before entering the archaeological complex in the storage rooms, the use of which implies an extra cost of 3 to 5 soles.
- It is not allowed to climb the Inca walls, much less paint or scratch them.
- It is necessary to be responsible for your own, if you are accompanied by children, take care of them so that they do not make mischief that can cause irreversible damage.
- Inside the Machu Picchu Sanctuary you will not find restrooms. It is recommended to visit them before entering.
- The use of canes is allowed only for the elderly or people with disabilities, the canes must have rubber tips.
- Respect the signs, the Sanctuary has some forbidden accesses that you must respect and transit only through the authorized areas, which are properly established and signposted.
Recommendations
- The first thing to do is to buy your Machu Picchu ticket and train tickets in advance. Especially if the visit takes place in high season (May – September).
Do not forget to carry in your luggage your identity document, either; passport, university student card or ID card. - To board the train you must be at the station 30 minutes before departure time, and present your ticket and ID. Otherwise, you will not be able to board the train.
- It is important to carry cash in soles (Peruvian currency) and dollars, in small bills, because in most places in Aguas Calientes they do not accept cards. However, you will find plenty of ATMs in the city of Cusco, Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes.
- The most frequented time to visit Machu Picchu is between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Therefore, it is recommended to go up to the Inca City early in the morning or in the afternoon so that you can enjoy your tour at your leisure.
- If you are American or belong to the European Community, you will not need a visa for stays of less than 90 days. If you come from countries that are part of the Andean Community (CAN), you will be able to enter just by presenting your identity document.
