This tour takes you from Cusco to Machu Picchu in a full day. You’ll travel by tourist train through the Sacred Valley, following the Vilcanota River to Aguas Calientes, surrounded by mountains and cloud forests.
At Machu Picchu, you’ll have a private guide who will explain the history and architecture of the Inca citadel. We at Illa Kuntur Travel take care of transportation, tickets, and coordination so you only need to worry about enjoying yourself.

- We will start our Machu Picchu tour from Cusco by picking you up from your hotel very early in the morning to make the most of the day. In a tourist transport, we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station, a drive of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- In Ollantaytambo, you will board the tourist train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town). The journey takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, traveling through the Sacred Valley and the cloud forest that surrounds Machu Picchu.
- Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your private guide will be waiting for you at the station. They will give you the necessary instructions and accompany you to the bus station. The eco-bus rides up to the Machu Picchu entrance in approximately 30 minutes along a zigzagging mountain road.
- Private guided tour of Machu Picchu for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Your guide will explain the purpose of the main sectors: Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, Sacred Plaza, agricultural and residential areas. You will also have time for photos at the main viewpoints.
- After exploring Machu Picchu, we will return to Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes) on the eco-bus. There, you will have free time to enjoy a delicious lunch (not included).
- At the scheduled time, you must head to the train station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then continue by tourist bus to the city of Cusco.
- We will drop you off at the door of your hotel at the end of this unforgettable experience.
