When visiting Machu Picchu, it is important to follow these rules to protect the site and ensure a safe and respectful experience:

• Entrance hours: from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Bringing in or consuming alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
• Hydrating drinks must be carried in reusable bottles (disposable bottles are not allowed).
• Eating food inside the archaeological park is not permitted.
• Pets are not allowed.
• Do not throw garbage inside the site; trash bins are available outside the archaeological area.
• Smoking or lighting fires is strictly forbidden.
• Only small bags or backpacks are allowed. Larger luggage can be stored at the entrance lockers (for an additional cost of approximately 3 to 5 soles).
• Climbing, painting, or scratching the Inca walls is prohibited.
• Each visitor is responsible for their own safety. If you are traveling with children, keep them supervised at all times.
• There are no restrooms inside the sanctuary; it is recommended to use them before entering.
