What to Bring

• Sturdy shoes, a good rain jacket, and warm clothing for the evenings are the only essential items. Also, wear comfortable and modest clothing for your time in Cusco. There is no need to bring a sleeping bag or any camping gear, as you will be staying in hotels throughout the expedition.

Travel Guide

The rules that must be respected inside Machu Picchu are:

• Entrance to the Inca citadel is allowed from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• The entry and consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
• Hydration drinks must be carried in bottles (but not disposable ones).
• Eating food inside the archaeological park is not permitted.
• Pets are not allowed.
• Throwing garbage inside the site is forbidden. Trash bins are available outside the archaeological complex.
• Smoking and lighting fires are strictly prohibited.
• Regarding luggage, only small bags and backpacks are allowed. However, if you have large luggage, you may leave it at the storage area before entering the archaeological site; this service has an additional cost of 3 to 5 soles.
• Climbing Inca walls or scratching or painting them is strictly forbidden.
• Visitors must act responsibly; if you are accompanied by children, please supervise them to prevent any behavior that could cause irreversible damage.
• There are no restroom facilities inside the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. It is recommended to use them before entering.
• The use of walking sticks is allowed only for elderly visitors or those with disabilities, and they must have rubber tips.
• Please respect all signage. The Sanctuary has restricted access areas that must be observed, and visitors should only walk along authorized routes, which are clearly marked and designated.

Suggested Minimum and Maximum Age:

• Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Senior adults (65+) should have medical clearance for high-altitude hiking activities.

Travel Insurance:

• We recommend having travel insurance that covers medical assistance and emergency evacuation.

Health Measures

• It is recommended to stay well hydrated and carry a personal water bottle.
• Use sunscreen and a hat or cap for protection against sun exposure.
• Carry hand sanitizer and personal hygiene items.
• If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms, it is recommended not to join the tour to protect the group.

Safety Requirements During the Tour
