The Maras Moray and Machu Picchu 2-day Tour by Illa Kuntur Travel & Wellness is an excellent option to visit one of the wonders of the world, Machu Picchu, and explore the cultural richness of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. During the tour we will visit historic places such as Chinchero, known as the Rainbow city; Moray, with its mysterious circular platforms; and Maras, with its impressive salt pools. We will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba before continuing to Ollantaytambo, where we will board the train bound for the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes, on a dream journey that will bring us closer to the mystical Inca citadel.
The next day, well rested and full of energy, we will visit Machu Picchu on a private tour with our expert guide, who will take us back in time to understand the history of this incredible place.

On this day we will visit Chinchero, Moray, and Maras, enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba, explore Ollantaytambo, and overnight in the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes).

TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco + Chinchero + Moray + Maras Salt Mines + Ollantaytambo + Aguas Calientes Town
- We’ll start our adventure at 6:30 a.m., departing from Cusco towards some of the most fascinating places in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
- Our first stop will be Chinchero, an ancient Incan temple. Here we will also visit a traditional textile center.
- We’ll continue to Moray, an archaeological complex famous for its circular terraces in the shape of an amphitheater. It is believed that the Incas used this place as an agricultural laboratory, experimenting with microclimates and sacred crops.
- Next, we’ll visit the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a complex of more than 3,000 salt ponds that have been in use since pre-Incan times.
- Afterward, we’ll enjoy an included buffet lunch in Urubamba.
- We’ll then continue our visit to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.
- At the end of our visit in Ollantaytambo, we’ll head to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we’ll board our tourist train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
- Upon arrival, our staff will escort you to your hotel, where you’ll be able to rest.

Day 02: Aguas Calientes + Machu Picchu + Aguas Calientes + Ollantaytambo + Cusco
- After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, you will head with our guide to board the eco-friendly bus that will take you to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu.
- Once inside, you’ll begin a guided tour that lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours.
- At the end of the tour, we’ll return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for lunch (not included) and to explore the area a bit more.
- Then, you’ll follow the instructions given by our guide to board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you near the station to transfer you by transport to the city of Cusco, and we’ll drop you off at the door of your hotel.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel in Aguas Calientes.
