With our 5-day Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain tour by Illa Kuntur Travel & Wellness, explore the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, the colorful Rainbow Mountain, and of course, the modern wonder of the world, Machu Picchu.
This all-inclusive tour package begins with your arrival in Cusco, where we will transfer you to your hotel and provide detailed information about your activities during the 5 days. It includes entrance tickets to all attractions and transfer to the airport on the last day.
We take care of all the logistics before your arrival in Cusco so you can fully enjoy your vacation, whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, with family, or friends.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Arrival Airport / Cusco / Qoricancha / Sacsayhuamán / Qenqo / Pukapukara / Tambomachay / Cusco
On your first day, we will pick you up from the airport and in the afternoon we will do the City Tour, visiting Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay.
Cusco / Taray Viewpoint / Pisac / Urubamba / Ollantaytambo / Aguas Calientes
This day we will visit the colorful town of Pisac and, after lunch in Urubamba, we will visit Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes.
Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Aguas Calientes / Ollantaytambo / Cusco
We will wake up early to visit the hidden jewel of the Incas, Machu Picchu, and in the afternoon we will return to Cusco.
Cusco / Cusipata / Rainbow Mountain / Cusipata / Cusco
This day we wake up early to visit the second most visited attraction in Cusco: “Rainbow Mountain”.
Cusco / Transfer to the Airport
We will have free time and then transfer you to the airport, ending our services.
Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain Itinerary
Day 01: Airport Arrival + City Tour + Qoricancha + Sacsayhuaman + Qenqo + Puka pukara+ Tambomachay
- With a warm welcome to Cusco, we will meet you at the airport and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day will be dedicated to rest and acclimatization to the altitude.
- In the afternoon, at approximately 1:00 p.m., we will start our City Tour. Our staff will pick you up from your hotel.
- Once ready, we will head to the Qoricancha Temple, where we will delve into part of the region’s history, preparing us to visit even more incredible places.
- We will then continue to Sacsayhuaman, one of the archaeological sites known for its megalithic constructions, where our guide will give you a brief explanation and you’ll have time to take photos.
- After visiting this site, we will head to Qenqo, a ceremonial site, followed by Puka Pukara, known for the reddish color of its stone structures. Here you will learn even more thanks to our tour guide.
- Our last stop will be Tambomachay, where our guide will give you the final explanations about the site, concluding this day of your trip.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 02: Cusco + Pisac + Urubamba + Ollantaytambo + Aguas Calientes Town
- Your adventure begins around 7:30 a.m. approximately. We will head towards the Sacred Valley and make our first stop at the Taray Viewpoint, where we will enjoy impressive views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
- Then we will continue our trip to Pisac, where we will be amazed by the grandeur of its agricultural terraces, which are still preserved on the mountainsides, a legacy of Inca engineering.
- To recharge energy and continue with our tour, we will go to Urubamba, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
- After lunch, we will head to Ollantaytambo, an imposing Inca fortress known for its monumental terraces, temples, and ceremonial water fountains.
- From Ollantaytambo, we will take a train that will take us on a picturesque journey of approximately 1h30m to the town of Machu Picchu, also known as Aguas Calientes.
- Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting for you to accompany you to your hotel, where you can settle in and spend the night in this magical little town.
- Meals: Breakfast and buffet lunch.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 03: Visit to Machu Picchu + Return to Cusco
- After a delicious breakfast, our guide will pick you up to take you to the eco-bus station. A short ride of approximately 30 minutes will take us to the majestic entrance gate of Machu Picchu.
- Inside the Inca citadel, you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately two hours, visiting its main temples, plazas, and terraces (with the circuit that is available).
- At the end of the tour, we will go back down on the eco-bus to the town of Machu Picchu, where you will have enough time to enjoy lunch on your own in the town of Aguas Calientes.
- At the scheduled time, you must head to the train station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our team will be waiting for you at the station to comfortably transfer you back to the city of Cusco.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel in Aguas Calientes.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 04: Cusco + Hike to Rainbow Mountain
- Around 4:30 a.m., our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to start the trip heading south for approximately 2 hours.
- We will make a stop in the town of Cusipata to enjoy a comforting breakfast and recharge energy before continuing to Pitumarca, the starting point of our hike.
- The adventure begins with a hike of approximately 1h20m through impressive high-Andean landscapes. Finally, we will reach our dreamed destination: the Rainbow Mountain – Vinicunca.
- We will have enough time (approx. 40 minutes) to admire the landscape, take unforgettable photos, and enjoy the special energy of the Andean Apus.
- Then we will begin the descent along the same path until we return to the base, where our transport will be waiting for us.
- Back in Cusipata, we will stop again to enjoy a delicious typical lunch. Finally, we will continue our return trip to Cusco, arriving in the city around 4:30 p.m.
- Meals: Breakfast and semi-buffet lunch.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 05: Cusco + Transfer to the Airport 05: Cusco + Traslado Al Aeropuerto
- On this last day in Cusco, you can take the morning to rest or choose to take a walk around the city. We recommend visiting the main squares, streets, and markets of Cusco.
- Depending on your flight departure time, we will take you to the airport, thus concluding your adventure in Cusco.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel.

Visitar el Machu Pichu ha estado en mi lista de deseos durante casi una década y finalmente sucedió! Fue una experiencia surrealista ver las ruinas en la cima de la montaña a casi 8000 pies de altitud fue nada menos que increíble! Me había sentado y mirado fijamente la vista durante más de una hora y cuando Sam, mi guía turístico dijo que era hora de irse, se sintió como si solo hubieran pasado unos minutos. Y hablando de eso, Sam fue una enciclopedia andante de Machu Pichu y toda la historia incaica y peruana. Vino preparado con un folleto para explicar los lugares y eventos clave que llevaron a cómo y por qué Machu Pichu se paró en la cima de esas montañas. El único inconveniente fue que reservé tarde y solo experimenté el punto de vista y no tuve la oportunidad de caminar dentro de la ciudad.
