TRAVEL DESCRIPTION

On the first day, you will have the option to take the City Tour to acclimate to the city or enjoy a free afternoon to explore Cusco at your own pace.

On the second day, we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will explore the archaeological site of Pisac and its handicraft market, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at Tunupa restaurant, and visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes.

On the third day, we will visit the Machu Picchu sanctuary with a private guide, who will immerse you in the history and greatness of the Incas.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

Day 01

Arrival in Cusco and Afternoon City Tour

On your first day, we will pick you up from the airport and in the afternoon we will do the City Tour, visiting Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay.

Day 02

Sacred Valley Tour with Connection to Machu Picchu

On this second day, you will enjoy visiting the top tourist attractions of the Sacred Valley.

Day 03

Visit to Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco

We will wake up early to visit the hidden jewel of the Incas, Machu Picchu, and in the afternoon we will return to Cusco.

Day 04

Tour to the Salt Mines of Maras and Moray and Transfer to the Airport

Discover the mysteries and ancient beauty of Maras and Moray, and at night transfer to the Airport.

TRAVEL ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Cusco + City Tour + Qoricancha + Sacsayhuaman + Qenqo + Tambomachay

Depending on your flight arrival time, we will be waiting for you with our private transportation to transfer you directly to the door of your hotel in Cusco.
In the afternoon, we will begin the City Tour. Our staff will pick you up from your hotel with a warm welcome. Once ready, we will head to the Qoricancha Temple, where we will dive into part of the region’s history that will prepare us for even more incredible places.
Next, we will head to Sacsayhuamán, one of the archaeological sites known for its megalithic constructions. Here, our guide will provide a brief explanation, and you’ll have time to take those inevitable photographs.
After visiting this site, we will continue to Puka Pukara, known for the reddish coloration of its structures. Here, you will learn much more thanks to our tour guide.
Our final stop will be Tambomachay, where our guide will give the last explanations of the site, concluding this day of the trip.

Day 02: Cusco + Taray Viewpoint + Pisac + Ollantaytambo + Aguas Calientes

Your adventure with our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour begins with a warm welcome and pickup from your hotel at around 7:30 a.m. Together, we will head towards the Sacred Valley, where our first stop will be at the Taray Viewpoint to enjoy the impressive panoramic views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Next, we will continue to Pisac, where we will be amazed by the grandeur of its agricultural terraces, still preserved on the mountainsides a true legacy of Inca engineering.
To recharge our energy and continue the journey, we will head to Urubamba, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious lunch with typical regional dishes.
With a full stomach and renewed spirit, we will continue to Ollantaytambo, an imposing Inca fortress known for its monumental terraces, temples, and ceremonial water fountains.
After visiting Ollantaytambo, we will head to the train station and board the scenic train that will take us on a picturesque journey of approximately 2 hours to the town of Machu Picchu, also known as Aguas Calientes.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our attentive staff will be waiting to accompany you to your hotel, where you can settle in and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Day 03: Visit to Machu Picchu + Regreso in Cusco

On this day of our Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour, sunrise will be our reward in a majestic place. After breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up and give you some instructions before accompanying you to the station for the ecological buses. A short 30-minute bus ride will take us to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
Inside the Inca citadel, we will enjoy a guided tour of approximately two hours. During this visit, you will feel the unique energy that emanates from this mystical place and marvel at the architectural masterpiece of the ancient cultures that left us an invaluable legacy.
After exploring Machu Picchu, we will return to the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes) on the ecological buses. There, you will have free time to enjoy a delicious lunch (at your own expense). Later, depending on your train departure time, you must arrive at the station 30 minutes before departure to return to Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, our staff will transfer you to the bus that will take you back to Cusco, where we will drop you off at the door of your hotel.

Day 04: Cusco + Maras Salt Mines + Moray + Transfer to the Airport

8:00 a.m. Pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will then head to the Maras Salt Mines, where you can admire the impressive salt terraces still in full production. Next, we will continue to Moray to explore the ancient and mysterious circular terraces, believed to have been an Inca agricultural laboratory.
The tour ends in Chinchero, where you will have the opportunity to visit the Textile Art Center, observe traditional weaving techniques, and purchase beautiful handmade textiles.
Finally, we will return to Cusco around 2:00 p.m. and, at the time you indicate, we will transfer you to the airport, marking the end of our services.

Recommendations

The first thing you need to do is buy your Ticket to Machu Picchu and your train tickets in advance. Especially if the visit is made in high season (May – September).
Do not forget to carry your identity document in your luggage, either; passport, university student card or DNI.
To board the train you must be at the station 30 minutes before departure time, and present your ticket and identification document. Otherwise, you will not be able to board the train.
It is important to have cash in soles (Peruvian currency) and dollars, in small denominations, because most places in Aguas Calientes do not accept cards. However, you will find quite a few ATMs in the city of Cusco, Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes.
The visiting hours to Machu Picchu most frequented by tourists is between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Therefore, it is recommended to go up to the Inca City in the early morning or in the afternoon so that you can enjoy your tour with peace of mind.
If you are North American or belong to the European Community, you will not need a visa for stays of less than 90 days. If you come from countries that make up the Andean Community (CAN), you can enter just by presenting your identity document.
