TRAVEL ITINERARY

Day 01: Cusco / Km 104 / Wiñay Wayna / Aguas Calientes

  • Early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the journey toward the train station in Ollantaytambo, traveling through the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas. From there, we will board the train that takes us to kilometer 104, the starting point of the hike.
  • After registering at the control checkpoint, we will begin our trek along one of the most spectacular sections of the Inca Trail. Along the route, we will visit important Inca archaeological sites and admire the natural beauty of the area: Andean mountains, canyons, orchids, and endemic bird species that accompany travelers with every step.
  • One of the most remarkable points of the day will be the visit to Wiñay Wayna, an archaeological complex surrounded by agricultural terraces and ceremonial structures that connect us to the grandeur of the Inca Empire.
  • We will continue along the trail until we reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where an unforgettable view opens before us: Machu Picchu at sunset. The golden light at this moment provides the perfect scenery for capturing stunning photographs.
  • Finally, we will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can comfortably rest at your hotel. Dinner will be on your own, and if you wish, you may visit the local hot springs to relax (optional).

  • We will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, exploring the main temples, plazas, and key sectors of Machu Picchu, while learning about the mysteries and history of the Inca culture.
  • After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore on your own or, if you wish, hike Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain (additional entrance required and subject to availability).
