Throughout this 10 km / 6.3 mile journey, you will immerse yourself in landscapes of great natural beauty: from valleys that shelter unique species to cloud forests full of life. Along the way, you will explore important Inca archaeological sites, surrounded by spectacular views, connecting you with the greatness of this ancient civilization.

TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco / Km 104 / Wiñay Wayna / Aguas Calientes
- Early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the journey to the train station in Ollantaytambo, passing through the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas. From there, we will board the train that takes us to kilometer 104, the starting point of the hike.
- After registering at the checkpoint, we will begin the trek along one of the most spectacular sections of the Inca Trail. Along the way, we will visit important Inca archaeological sites and admire the area’s natural wealth: Andean mountains, canyons, orchids, and endemic birds that accompany travelers every step of the way.
- One of the highlights will be the visit to Wiñay Wayna, an archaeological complex surrounded by agricultural terraces and ceremonial structures that connect us to the greatness of the Inca Empire.
- We will continue along the trail until reaching the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where one of the most memorable views of the journey opens before our eyes: Machu Picchu at sunset. The golden light of this moment will be perfect for capturing unforgettable photographs.
- Finally, we will descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can comfortably rest at your hotel. Dinner will be on your own, and if you wish, you can relax at the local hot springs (optional).

Day 02: Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Aguas Calientes / Ollantaytambo / Cusco
- Early in the morning, we will board the bus that takes us directly to the entrance of the Machu Picchu citadel. There, accompanied by our expert guide, we will witness the sunrise over the mountains, a unique spectacle that enhances the grandeur of this sanctuary.
- We will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, exploring the most important temples, plazas, and sectors of Machu Picchu, while uncovering the mysteries and history of the Inca culture.
- At the end of the tour, you will have free time to explore on your own or, if you wish, hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain (with an additional entrance ticket and subject to availability).
- We will then descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and finally a private transfer will take you back to your hotel in Cusco, thus concluding an unforgettable experience.

Recommendations
- It is recommended to arrive in Cusco at least 1 day before the hike to adapt to the altitude and avoid altitude sickness.
- The Short Inca Trail is of moderate difficulty, ideal for people with basic physical fitness. However, it is recommended to do some light hikes or physical activity before the trip.
- Access to the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu is regulated by a limited number of visitors per day. Advance booking is necessary (minimum 2–3 months).
- The original passport must be presented at all checkpoints (copies or photos are not valid).
- The weather in the Andes can change quickly. It is important to bring layered clothing, rain gear, and sun protection, even during the dry season.
- Only a small backpack (max. 25–30 L) is allowed on the hike. Large suitcases can be left at your hotel in Cusco or Aguas Calientes.
- Hydration and Energy:
