Tour Description

A unique experience of Inka art and pottery, where visitors create their own handmade piece using ancestral techniques and colors, guided by Master Artisan Vicente Rayo Quispe. More than a workshop, it is a space of peace, well-being, and creativity that connects you with the living tradition of the Sacred Valley.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

Program 01

Inka Painting Workshop – Express Version (1.5 hours)

We will begin by picking up participants from their hotel in Cusco and heading to the workshop in Pisac. There, you will be welcomed with a brief sound introduction to help you enter a state of calm and connection. Then, participants will paint their own piece guided by Master Artisan Vicente Rayo Quispe, who will complete the final details and deliver the finished pieces as a memento of the experience.

Inka Painting Workshop and Ancestral Sounds (3 hours)

This program offers a more complete experience: from pick-up in Cusco, a traditional welcome with flowers and ancestral sounds, entrance to the workshop, preparation of materials, and the full creative process. Participants will paint guided by Master Vicente Rayo and then create their own free-style design. Finally, they will visit the Interpretation Center “Sonidos del Ande” for an immersion in Andean ancestral sounds before the farewell.

Full Day of Pottery and Inka Art in the Sacred Valley

A full day dedicated to Andean art and tradition. We begin with pick-up in Cusco and transfer to Pisac, where you will enjoy an immersive experience at the Inka Ceramics Workshop-Museum. Participants will learn about traditional pottery, create their own clay design, enjoy an Andean lunch, and continue with a handcrafted painting session. The day concludes with an ancestral sound performance and time to purchase local handicrafts before the farewell.

  • Your experience begins with meeting the local guide in the community of Cuyo Chico, in Pisac, either in the morning or in the afternoon. After a brief introduction, you will get to know the space where the interpretation of ancient Andean sounds will take place.
  • You will be welcomed with a traditional greeting and a brief introduction to the Andean worldview, while the host explains the role of music and instruments in daily life and in the community’s ceremonies.
  • Then, you will enjoy the interpretation of ancestral Andean sounds. You will be able to listen, feel the vibrations, and interact with some instruments. At the end, there will be a group closing, and you will have a moment to take photos and say goodbye to your hosts.

Safety rules:

  • Maintain silence and respect during the ancestral sound performance.

  • Use the workshop materials (brushes, paints, clay, and ceramic pieces) properly and do not handle tools without authorization.
  • Do not run or push inside the workshop to avoid accidents with fragile pieces or objects.

Health recommendations:

  • Avoid very heavy meals 2 hours before the session to better enjoy the experience.
  • Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the start time to register and get settled in the space.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that can get slightly stained with paint or clay.
  • Immediately inform staff of any physical discomfort, dizziness, or sound-related unease during the session.
  • Acclimatization in Cusco: Arrive at least one day before the tour to adapt to the altitude and prevent altitude sickness (soroche).
