Program 01

Inca Painting Workshop – Express Version (1.5 Hours)

We will begin by picking up participants from their hotel in Cusco and traveling to the workshop in Pisac. Upon arrival, they will be welcomed with a brief sound meditation designed to promote calm and connection. Participants will then paint their own piece under the guidance of Master Artisan Vicente Rayo Quispe. Finally, the Master Artisan will add the finishing touches and present the completed artwork as a keepsake from the experience.

Your experience begins with a meeting with the local guide in the community of Cuyo Chico, Pisac, in the morning or afternoon. After a brief introduction, you will visit the space where the ancestral Andean sound presentation will take place.
You will be welcomed with a traditional greeting and a brief introduction to the Andean worldview, while your host explains the role of music and instruments in the community’s daily life and ceremonies.

From the start, working with clay will be introduced as the central focus of the experience, along with an explanation of the history of Inca pottery and the importance of this art in the daily and ceremonial life of the Andean world.
You will then take part in a guided visit through the workshop, where you will observe original pieces and learn about the traditional symbols, shapes, and colors that inspire the region’s ceramic art. This introduction will provide the foundation for the clay modeling and handcrafting activity you will experience later.
