PROGRAM SUMMARY
Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake – Soraypampa – Mollepata – Cusco
Pick-up from the hotel and a 3-hour drive to the town of Mollepata (2,900 m.a.s.l.) for an energizing breakfast, continuing to Soraypampa where the guided hike to Humantay Lake begins, with the option to rent horses. The ascent offers views of native flora and fauna, as well as the Humantay and Salkantay snow-capped peaks, until reaching the dazzling turquoise crystal-clear lake. Afterwards, descend along the same trail, have lunch in Mollepata, and return to Cusco.
Humantay Lake tour itinerary
Day 01: Cusco + Mollepata + Soraypampa + Humantay Lake + Soraypampa + Mollepata + Cusco
- We will pick you up from your accommodation for a 3-hour drive to the charming town of Mollepata, located at 2,900 meters above sea level.
- Once in Mollepata, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast to recharge our energy before continuing our journey to Soraypampa, where we will begin our exciting hike.
- From Soraypampa, our hike will be led by an experienced guide who will keep a steady pace and look after the group. If you wish, you may choose to rent horses (an additional cost of approximately 160 to 180 soles, paid directly to the owner) to enjoy the trek in a more comfortable way.
- As we ascend, we will have the opportunity to admire the native flora and fauna, as well as enjoy the impressive views of the Humantay and Salkantay snow-capped mountains.
- Once we complete the ascent, we will arrive at the dazzling Humantay Lake. Its turquoise, crystal-clear waters reflect the sky, creating a magical scenery that will leave you breathless. Here, our guide will provide detailed information about the site, and you will have plenty of time to take amazing photos.
- After fully enjoying Humantay, we will begin the descent along the same path back to the starting point. Upon arrival, we will board our transport back to Mollepata, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
- Finally, in the afternoon, we will return to the historic city of Cusco, dropping you off one block from the Plaza de Armas.
- Meals: Breakfast and semi-buffet lunch
