Tour Start – Departure from Cusco
- Our journey begins early, with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 a.m. to head towards the Cruzpata sector, starting point of the adventure. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular Andean scenery, with panoramic views of the La Verónica and Chicón snow-capped peaks, surrounded by the natural beauty that characterizes the region.
ATV Route – Moray
- Upon arrival at our operations base in Cruzpata, our team will provide you with a safety briefing and a brief ATV handling practice. Once ready, we’ll begin the 40-minute journey to the impressive circular terraces of Moray, an enigmatic Inca agricultural laboratory where they experimented with microclimates for crop adaptation. Here we’ll conduct a 20-minute guided tour, exploring its historical and architectural importance.
5 Snow-Capped Peaks Viewpoint and Transfer to the Salt Mines
- After our visit to Moray, we’ll continue our journey to the 5 Snow-Capped Peaks Viewpoint, a panoramic point from where you can appreciate the immensity of the Andes mountain range. Then, we’ll return to the base on a 40-minute journey, where we’ll leave the ATVs and board our transport to continue to the Maras Salt Mines.
Visit to the Maras Salt Mines
- The Maras Salt Mines have been used since Inca times for salt extraction and remain active to this day. This impressive complex has more than 3,000 pools filled with salt water, which over time crystallizes forming a unique landscape. Here we’ll learn about its historical importance, its medicinal benefits and will have the opportunity to purchase natural salt recognized for its therapeutic properties and see its process.
Return to Cusco
- After our visit to the Maras Salt Mines, we’ll return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:00 p.m., thus concluding a tour full of adventure, history and unforgettable landscapes.
