TRAVEL DESCRIPTION

The Sacred Valley VIP Tour in Cusco (1 Day) with Illa Kuntur Travel is perfect if you have limited time in the city, as it allows you to visit Chinchero, the archaeological site of Moray, the impressive Maras Salt Mines, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac all in a single day, while enjoying unique landscapes and an enriching cultural experience. Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and head to Chinchero. After visiting its colonial church, we will continue to the archaeological site of Moray and the Maras Salt Mines. Next, we will enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba and then visit Ollantaytambo, the living Inca town. On our way back to Cusco, we will stop at the archaeological site of Pisac. After about an hour’s drive from Pisac, we will arrive in Cusco, where our transport will drop you off in the city center. This tour can also begin in Pisac and end in Chinchero if you prefer.

Sacred Valley VIP Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco + Chinchero + Moray + Salt of Maras + Ollantaytambo + Pisac + Cusco

Between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m., our staff will greet you warmly and pick you up from your hotel to take you to our transport.
We will begin our journey visiting the picturesque town of Chinchero, where we will appreciate the agricultural terraces, the remains of the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui, and the beautiful colonial temple built on top of Inca foundations. In addition, we will have the opportunity to observe the complete process of wool, from washing and spinning to its transformation into colorful textiles.
Then, we will head to Moray, where we will witness fascinating circular terraces used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center.
Later, we will continue our tour to the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive natural landscape where we will observe the ancestral process of salt extraction, a practice that dates back to Inca times.
After that, we will head to the majestic Fortress of Ollantaytambo, an Inca citadel built with extraordinary precision. This imposing masterpiece of Inca architecture was erected to guard access to this region of the valley and protect it from invasions coming from the jungle.
At the end of the visit to the fortress, we will head to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will continue to the town of Pisac, where we will visit the impressive Archaeological Complex of Pisac, an Inca citadel built during the reign of Pachacutec. Its strategic location on top of a mountain offers an incredible panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, which in ancient times led to the Antisuyo region.
After finishing the visit to Pisac, we will begin our return trip to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
