Discover the best of Cusco in 6 days: Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, and the impressive Rainbow Mountain. This tour takes you through the region’s main attractions with everything organized so you can just enjoy. You’ll start with a City Tour to acclimate, visit the Sacred Valley, spend a night in Aguas Calientes before exploring Machu Picchu, and finish with the multicolored formations of Vinicunca. We can customize the itinerary according to your needs.
PROGRAM SUMMARY
Airport Arrival / Cusco / City Tour / Cusco
On your first day, we will pick you up from the airport and in the afternoon we will take the City Tour, visiting Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay.
Cusco / Sacred Valley / Aguas Calientes
On this day, we will visit Pisac and its traditional market. After lunch, we will head to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes.
Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Cusco
We will wake up early to visit the hidden jewel of the Incas, Machu Picchu, and in the afternoon return to Cusco.
Cusco / Maras and Moray / Cusco
We will live a great experience visiting the Maras Salt Mines, the archaeological complex of Moray, and Chinchero on a half-day tour.
Cusco / Rainbow Mountain / Cusco
On this day, we will wake up early to visit one of the most visited attractions in Peru: the beautiful Rainbow Mountain.
Cusco / Airport Transfer
We will have the day free before transferring you to the airport, concluding our services.
Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cusco + City Tour + Qoricancha + Sacsayhuamán + Tambomachay
- Pick-up from the Cusco airport or bus terminal and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to acclimate to the altitude (3,400 m).
- In the afternoon, we will do the City Tour in Cusco. Pick-up from your hotel at 12:50 p.m. and departure from the Main Square.
- We will visit Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the most important religious complex of the Inca Empire.
- We will continue to Sacsayhuamán to see the impressive Inca fortress with its massive stone walls.
- We will head to the eucalyptus forest in Qenqo and make a stop at the Cristo Blanco viewpoint for panoramic views of the city of Cusco.
- Afterwards, we will visit Pukapukara and Tambomachay (Temple of Water).
- Return to Cusco around 6:30 p.m. We will drop you off near the Main Square.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 2: Cusco + Taray Viewpoint + Pisac + Ollantaytambo + Aguas Calientes
- We start the day with breakfast at your hotel in Cusco. Then we will pick you up around 7:30 a.m. for our first stop at the Taray viewpoint, where you will enjoy panoramic views of the Sacred Valley before continuing on to Pisac.
- Visit to the Pisac archaeological site.
- We will cross the valley to Urubamba to have lunch at a local restaurant.
- After lunch, we will visit the Ollantaytambo archaeological site.
- At the end of the tour, we will go to the Ollantaytambo train station to take the train to Aguas Calientes. A representative from the agency will be waiting for you with a sign with your name and will escort you to your hotel.
- Meals: Breakfast and buffet lunch in Urubamba.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 3: Machu Picchu + Aguas Calientes + Cusco
- After breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, we will leave early with your guide and walk to the bus station to take the bus up to the entrance of Machu Picchu (about 30 minutes by bus).
- Guided visit of the Machu Picchu citadel with a private guide for approximately 2 to 3 hours.
- Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, according to your train schedule, you will go to the train station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by the final transfer to Cusco. We will drop you off at your hotel.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel in Aguas Calientes.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 4: Cusco + Maras Town + Maras Salt Mines + Moray + Cusco
- After breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, we will pick you up around 8:00 a.m. to start the tour to the Sacred Valley, driving through beautiful mountain landscapes with snow-capped peaks.
- We will visit Moray, a complex of circular agricultural terraces that served as an Inca experimental center.
- We will visit the Maras Salt Mines, with more than 3,000 salt pools that are still operated by local families.
- Return to Cusco around 2:00 p.m. We will drop you off in the city center.
- Meals: Breakfast at the hotel in Cusco.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 5: Cusco + Cusipata + Phulawasipata + Rainbow Mountain + Cusipata + Cusco
- Pick-up from your hotel between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. We will drive for approximately 2 hours to Cusipata for breakfast. Then we will continue for about one more hour to the starting point of the hike.
- The hike takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach Rainbow Mountain.
- You will have about 45 minutes at the top to enjoy the views.
- We will descend for about 1 hour and then take the transport back to Cusipata for lunch.
- Return to Cusco around 5:00 p.m.
- Meals: Breakfast and semi-buffet lunch.
- Accommodation: Hotel in Cusco.
Day 6: Free Day + Transfer to the Airport
- After breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, you will have the morning free to rest or explore the city at your own pace.
- Transfer to the Cusco airport according to your flight schedule.
