Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival, Welcome, and Andean Opening Ceremony
- The experience begins from the moment you land in Cusco. A group transfer takes you to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where the mountain scenery and the clean Andean air mark the first contrast with the everyday pace you have just left behind.
- Once settled into the accommodation, we share a welcome lunch, subject to the group’s arrival time, followed by free time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude, an essential step before any physical or ceremonial activity.
- As evening falls, the group gathers for the Andean Opening Ceremony. Around the despacho, a traditional offering from the Quechua worldview, gratitude is expressed to Pachamama and her permission and protection are requested to begin the journey together. Flowers, coca leaves, seeds, and natural elements are arranged with intention and offered to the fire in an act of reciprocity with the land that welcomes us. This is not a decorative ritual: it is the starting point from which the entire experience takes on meaning.
- The day concludes with a shared dinner, in the warmth of conversation and the first true encounter among participants.
Day 02: Sacred Valley: Moray and Ollantaytambo
- The day begins with a sunrise yoga session, a space for the body to wake up gently as the first light of the sun reveals the outline of the mountains surrounding us.
- After breakfast, we depart for Moray, one of the most unique archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Its concentric circular terraces, carved into the hillside with a precision that still sparks debate among researchers, served as an Inca agricultural laboratory: each level maintains a different temperature, allowing experimentation with different crops and climate conditions.
- The next stop is Ollantaytambo, a town that preserves something uncommon in the Andean Peru: its Inca urban layout remains intact after five centuries. We walk through its stone alleyways, its functioning water channels, and the impressive complex of terraces and temples that dominate the hillside. It is not just an archaeological site; it is an inhabited town that lives on top of its own history.
- Back at the accommodation, an evening yoga session focused on heart opening closes the day before dinner.
Day 03: Temazcal Ceremony: Purification and Preparation
- The morning begins with a yoga session focused on conscious breathing and setting intentions, a space to find silence before the day fills with experience.
- After a light breakfast, we enter the Temazcal Ceremony, a purification ritual from the Mesoamerican tradition that works with steam, medicinal plants, and chanting to create a cleansing process on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. The intense heat, the darkness of the space, and the herbs in the steam create an atmosphere that invites you to release what you no longer need to carry.
- The afternoon is reserved for integration. There is no scheduled activity beyond rest and preparation, both physical and mental, for the Inca Trail the following day. It is a time that holds as much value as any visit.
- The day closes with a restorative yoga and meditation session, gentle and effortless, to reach the evening with a relaxed body and a calm mind.
Day 04: The Inca Trail: A Hike to Remember for a Lifetime
- We start early. For many participants, this ends up being the day they remember the most.
- We depart early toward the starting point of the one-day Inca Trail, the route that Andean pilgrims traveled for centuries to reach the Sacred City. With a specialized guide and entrance permits included, we walk along original stone paths through cloud forests and ruins that appear unexpectedly along each stretch of the trail. Lunch is served on the route.
- As evening falls, we arrive in Aguas Calientes, a town nestled in the valley at the foot of Machu Picchu, where we spend the night. Dinner is free so you can explore the town on your own, a well-deserved break before the following day’s journey.
Day 05: Machu Picchu: Face to Face with the Wonder
- We start early once again. What comes next is, for many, the reason they began this journey.
- We go up to Machu Picchu for a guided visit through the Inca citadel, where the stone architecture, astronomical design, and history of one of the most complex empires on the continent are revealed with each sector we explore. Those who completed the Inca Trail the day before have the opportunity to walk through the citadel again with more time and a different perspective.
- The energy of the place is hard to describe. You have to be there.
- In the afternoon, we take the train back to the Sacred Valley, accompanied by the scenery of the high jungle along the way.
- The evening closes with a gratitude yoga session followed by a group sharing circle, a space to put the experience into words and recognize what each person takes with them.
Day 06: Free Day: Rest, Spa, and Markets
- After morning yoga and breakfast, the day is completely yours.
- There is no itinerary, no departure time. What comes next is up to you, according to what your body and the moment call for. Some choose spa treatments, others slowly explore the local market, some enjoy a card reading, and others simply rest in the silence of the retreat with no schedule at all. All of it holds the same value.
- The evening brings the final group yoga gathering before the retreat closes, a space to arrive at the last day with a calm body and a clear mind.
Day 07: Farewell and Return Home with a Full Heart
- Breakfast is served according to each participant’s departure time, so no one has to rush during this final moment.
- Farewells are what they are: hard to summarize and easy to feel. What is shared over six days of journey, ceremony, and community is not left behind in the Sacred Valley. It goes with each person.
- The retreat ends here. The journey, in another sense, has just begun.
