Vinicunca ATV Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Cusco + Pitumarca + Checacupe + Cairahuiri + Montaña de Colores + Pitumarca + Cusco
- The adventure begins early, with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. From there, we will depart in a comfortable vehicle toward the South Valley, enjoying the beautiful Andean scenery and observing the daily life of local communities.
- After approximately 2 hours, we will arrive in the district of Cusipata, where a delicious breakfast awaits us to recharge energy before continuing with the expedition.
- Upon reaching the base, our expert guide will provide a safety briefing and a short practice session with the ATVs. Once ready, we will begin a 20-minute ATV ride through mountainous terrain, enjoying the thrill of riding in the Andes until we reach the impressive Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), recognized as a “Unique Natural Treasure of the World.”
- Located at 5,036 m.a.s.l. (16,522 ft), Rainbow Mountain is a geological spectacle where minerals have created a natural palette of red, purple, green, yellow, and pink hues. Our guide will explain the geological formation of Vinicunca, its ecosystem, and the cultural importance of the area.
- From this point, you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Apu Ausangate, the most revered mountain in the region, considered the “protector of the waters.” Its glacier melt feeds the Vilcanota River, which in turn gives life to the Amazon, the largest river in the world.
- After enjoying this breathtaking landscape and capturing amazing photos, we will begin the 20-minute ATV descent back to the base. From there, we will head to a local restaurant to delight in an exquisite lunch in Cusipata before returning to Cusco.
- In the afternoon, we will start the return trip, arriving in the city at approximately 5:00 p.m., thus concluding a day full of adventure and unforgettable landscapes.
