ATV Tour Huaypo Lake + Maras Salt Mines

We’ll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco to begin our journey to Cruzpata, a small town located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. During the approximately 50-minute journey, we’ll cross Andean landscapes filled with crop fields, mountains and small local communities. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a safety briefing and a brief practice session to familiarize yourself with operating the ATVs. No prior experience is necessary, as our guide will provide detailed instructions so you can enjoy the tour safely and comfortably.

Visit to the Maras Salt Mines

• After exploring Moray, we’ll continue our ATV route to the Maras Salt Mines, one of the most photogenic landscapes in the Sacred Valley. This ancient salt extraction system, used since pre-Inca times, consists of more than 3,000 pools that reflect different white and brown tones depending on the season. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the artisanal salt collection process and, if you wish, purchase local products like the famous Maras pink salt, recognized for its high mineral content and natural properties.

Exploration of Huaypo Lagoon

• We continue our route to Huaypo Lagoon, one of the most beautiful and least explored in the Sacred Valley. Located at more than 11,480 feet above sea level, this lagoon is an ideal place for observing Andean birds and enjoying an atmosphere of serenity in the midst of nature. On clear days, the lagoon reflects the Salkantay and Verónica snow-capped peaks in its waters, creating an impressive landscape. Our tour will focus on terrestrial exploration and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.

Return to Cusco

• After a day full of adventure, nature and history, we’ll begin the ATV return journey to Cruzpata, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Along the way, you can continue enjoying the Sacred Valley landscapes, with their crop fields, mountains and small Andean communities. We’ll arrive in Cusco at approximately 1:20 p.m., thus concluding an unforgettable experience combining adrenaline and culture in one of Peru’s most impressive destinations.
