The Maras Moray ATV and Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu 2-day adventure is ideal for those seeking a unique experience in Cusco. You’ll enjoy an exciting ATV tour through the impressive landscapes of the Sacred Valley, exploring the archaeological sites of Maras and Moray, before embarking on an unforgettable visit to Machu Picchu and the majestic Huayna Picchu mountain, combining adrenaline, culture and dreamlike landscapes.
The adventure begins with the transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the Sacred Valley, where we’ll start the ATV tour. In Moray, you’ll discover the enigmatic circular terraces used by the Incas for agricultural experimentation, while in Maras, you’ll learn about the famous salt mines, an incredible set of salt pools in the heart of the mountains.
After the ATV experience, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll board the panoramic train heading to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). Here you’ll spend the night to prepare for the great experience of the following day.
Early in the morning, we’ll go up to Machu Picchu, where you’ll take a guided tour of the Inca citadel, exploring its temples, terraces and plazas. Subsequently, we’ll ascend Wayna Picchu, the iconic mountain that offers a spectacular view of the Inca wonder. After this unforgettable experience, we’ll begin the return journey by train to Ollantaytambo and then by tourist transport to Cusco, thus concluding a trip full of adventure and culture.

We begin the adventure with the transfer from Cusco to Cruzpata, where we’ll board the ATVs to tour the Sacred Valley landscapes. We’ll visit Moray, the ancient Inca agricultural laboratory, and the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive set of salt pools in the heart of the mountains. Then, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll take the panoramic train to Aguas Calientes, gateway to Machu Picchu.

ITINERARIO DE VIAJE
DAY 1: CUSCO / MARAS / MORAY / OLLANTAYTAMBO / AGUAS CALIENTES
- We begin this exciting experience with the ATV tour through the Sacred Valley, combining adventure and culture in one journey. We’ll pick you up at your hotel for a brief safety briefing and practice with the vehicles before heading to the impressive archaeological sites of Moray and the Maras Salt Mines. During the route, you’ll have the opportunity to admire the Inca agricultural architecture and their advanced irrigation systems, which still amaze with their precision and functionality.
- You’ll have 25 minutes at each site to explore Moray, known as the agricultural laboratory of the Incas, and the Maras Salt Mines, a set of salt pools used since pre-Inca times where you can observe the salt process. After the ATV adventure, we’ll head to Urubamba, where you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant featuring the best of Andean cuisine.
- In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll board the scenic train heading to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), where you’ll rest before the visit to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu the following day.
DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU / HUAYNA PICCHU / AGUAS CALIENTES / OLLANTAYTAMBO / CUSCO
- Breakfast at the Aguas Calientes Hotel.
- After that we’ll continue with the transfer to the ecological bus station to ascend to the Archaeological Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, in a journey of approximately 25 minutes. Upon arrival, you’ll immerse yourself in the history of this iconic Inca city, exploring its plazas, temples, roads, terraces and aqueducts, accompanied by our expert guide, who will provide details about the architecture, culture and chronicles of this enigmatic city.
- After the guided tour, we’ll begin the ascent to Wayna Picchu mountain, one of the most impressive peaks surrounding Machu Picchu, located at 8,751 feet above sea level. This hike, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, is an exciting challenge with steep trails, but the reward at the summit is an unparalleled panoramic view of the Inca citadel and its natural surroundings. From the top, you’ll be able to capture stunning photographs of Machu Picchu from a unique perspective.
- Upon completing the exploration, we’ll descend to the sanctuary entrance to board the return bus to Aguas Calientes. Here you’ll have free time to have lunch and explore the town before boarding the return train to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival, our team will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco, thus closing a day full of history, adventure and unforgettable landscapes.

Important Information about Entry to Huayna Picchu
Access to Wayna Picchu mountain is available from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., with a limit of 400 visitors per day. Due to high demand, it’s essential to purchase tickets in advance, as they sell out quickly.
