TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco + Chinchero + Moray + Maras Salt Mines + Ollantaytambo + Aguas Calientes Town
- On this wonderful day, we will begin our adventure at 6:30 a.m., departing from Cusco towards some of the most fascinating sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
- Our first stop will be Chinchero, an ancient Inca center that preserves a beautiful main square and a colonial church built upon Inca foundations. Here, we will also visit a traditional textile center, where the skilled local weavers will teach us the ancestral art of Andean weaving and the use of natural dyes.
- We will then continue to Moray, a unique archaeological complex known for its circular terraces in the shape of an amphitheater. It is believed that the Incas used this site as an agricultural laboratory, experimenting with microclimates and sacred crops.
- Next, we will visit the impressive Maras Salt Mines, a complex of more than 3,000 salt pools that have been active since pre-Inca times. The view is simply breathtaking, and you will have the chance to learn about the traditional salt harvesting process and purchase unique local products.
- In the afternoon, we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station to board our tourist train to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town). Upon arrival, our staff will escort you to your hotel. You will have the evening free to explore the picturesque town or relax in its natural hot springs, in preparation for your visit to Machu Picchu the next day.

A short 30-minute ride will take us to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas and one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
- Once inside, we will begin a guided tour of about 2 hours, exploring the main sectors of this archaeological jewel: ceremonial temples, terraces, fountains, and enclosures that reflect the deep knowledge and wisdom of the Inca civilization. The energy of the site, combined with the breathtaking views, will make this an experience you will carry forever in your heart.
- At the end of the tour, we will return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time for lunch (on your own) and to explore the area a little more.
